History Theatre – "Runestone! A Rock Music”

Authentic or not? The Kensington Rune Stone found in 1898 in the Alexandria MN area has raised a lot of questions and has created quite a controversy. Is it a 14th century Viking artifact or is it a hoax? This is one of Minnesota's "craziest stories" and the History Theatre has created a whimsical musical that lays out this "continuing controversy!" After the show head over to Tavern on Grand for lunch (included). Choice of a walleye sandwich, chicken Caesar salad or California burger. Please pre-order at time of registration.

Running Aces

Just north of the Twin Cities, Running Aces is a fun experience where our group will learn the basics of harness racing, betting, sulkys and drivers. Dine on your own at their restaurant, order off the menu or catch your own trout from Trout Air Pond. Have your catch prepared fresh for your dinner: pond to plate (fishing pole and bait provided.) Hear the story of the Dakota people, their language, culture, artifacts, see exhibits etc. Lunch included at Dangerfields then over to Fort Snelling to the visitor’s center. In Winona, learn about the area and the river as you cruise the backwaters on a narrated tour boat. Take a guided tour of the popular MN Marine Art Museum (MMAM). View many marine paintings and artworks from famous European artists. Lunch is included overlooking a local golf course.
